February Recipe: Rich Chocolate Fruit Sorbet

Rich Chocolate Fruit Sorbet (from “Naked Chocolate”)

½ cup of chocolate powder (crushed cacao beans or nibs)
½ cup of water
½ cup of agave nectar (a delicious natural sweetener)
½ a vanilla pod
2 cups of frozen strawberries and/or raspberries

Thaw the fruit for five minutes to make it easier to blend. Split the vanilla down the middle and scrape the seeds into the blender. Add all the other ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. Put in the freezer until you need it. Decorate with berries or a touch of flaked coconut.

Detox in Paradise: Part 1

I have returned from a week long cleansing program on the island of SavuSavu in Fiji. I learned more in a week about the importance of cleansing and detoxing than I have in school and through any books I have read on the subject.

If there is one thing that I cannot stress enough is that EVERYONE needs to take some time and just give everything a rest. Stop working. Stop stressing. Stop over-indulging. Just stop and give your body a chance to rest and catch up. Especially our sad internal organs that never catch a break. They work endlessly to get rid of all of the toxins that we pollute ourselves with consciously and unconsciously. The liver, kidneys, lungs, skin, and our stopped-up digestive tracts are working very hard to push out the environmental toxins as well as toxic food substances.

I will be covering this subject in more depth in my upcoming free seminar on Saturday, February 10th at 12pm.

Email me at jennifer@jcassetta.com for more details.

I will be writing more about this experience in upcoming posts.
