Part 2: Kick it up a Notch: Goal Setting How To
1. In a dedicated journal or notebook write your categories at the top of the page. Categories can include: Career, Relationships (intimate, friends, family), Health, Home, Spirituality, Travel, Charity, Finances, Education, Fun and any others you can think of. Pick the ones that speak to you most or that you may have ignored the most.
2. In each category, write as many goals as you can think of for the next year.
3. Write them in the present tense as if they have already happened.
4. Make them specific and measurable.
5. Include a timeline. “I have accomplished x, by x/x/07.”
6. Have fun with it!
Review your journal as often as possible and it is okay to add or edit your goals as your year goes along. Reading them daily keeps them fresh in your mind and not just a resolution that you made way back in January and never thought about again. At the end of the year, go back and review your goals. I bet you will be pleasantly surprised!
If your goals for 2007 include increasing your health and intensifying your workouts then make sure you check out this upcoming nutrition seminar on Saturday, February 10. I will be returning from a week-long detox program and health seminar and plan on sharing my new knowledge with everyone who attends.
